President Tinubu Urges Nigerian Medical Professionals Abroad to Return and Contribute

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called upon Nigerian medical practitioners residing abroad to return to their homeland and contribute their expertise towards the advancement of the country’s healthcare sector.

His plea came during the unveiling of Nigeria’s Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, December 12.

Acknowledging health as a fundamental human right, President Tinubu outlined comprehensive plans to revitalize the country’s medical infrastructure, upgrade equipment, and provide re-training programs for frontline health workers, slated to commence in 2024.

He fervently implored Nigerian medical experts residing abroad, citing examples like Professor Ali Pate and Tunji Alausa, to consider returning home and contributing to their nation’s well-being.

Encouraging developed nations benefitting from the expertise of Nigerian health workers to support the expansion of training facilities within Nigeria, President Tinubu emphasized the need to address the gap created by the emigration of skilled medical personnel.
