The Special Assistant on Public Communications to Atiku Abubakar, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, has revealed that Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice-President of Nigeria, has initiated a separate legal case against President Bola Tinubu in the United States. The case, marked as No. 23-5099 (N. D. III.), was filed at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. This decision prompted Atiku to withdraw an existing case before a circuit court in Illinois.

Speaking on behalf of Atiku Abubakar, Shaibu clarified that the withdrawal was made to avoid any potential abuse of court processes due to pursuing the same matter in a higher court. He emphasized that this was just the beginning of their legal actions.

Shaibu expressed his amusement over the enthusiasm displayed by Tinubu and his supporters, comparing it to the celebration of a Supreme Court judgment. He pointed out that Tinubu’s academic records, from primary school to university, raised questions, and he highlighted the President’s inability to identify a single former classmate.

Furthermore, Shaibu drew attention to the ongoing ministerial screening at the Senate, where nominees disclosed their educational histories, including interactions with classmates. However, he noted that Tinubu lacked a similar educational history, as evidenced by his mysterious background and absence of classmates. Shaibu went on to criticize Tinubu for not inviting former classmates to the Presidential Villa as past Presidents had done, suggesting that this lack of transparency raises concerns about his history.
Shaibu highlighted Atiku’s aim to shed light on the President’s past, arguing that the occupant of the Presidential Office must have an untarnished life history. He accused Tinubu of obstructing efforts to reveal the truth about his past, implying that such obstruction implies a hidden agenda.
Shaibu underscored that falsehoods might persist for a while, but the truth would eventually prevail. He asserted that the time for truth had arrived and that Tinubu had no place to hide. This development adds a new layer to the ongoing legal and political dynamics in Nigeria.
