Gov Bala Muhammed Emerges PDP Governors’ Forum chairman

 

The Peoples Democratic Party has elected Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, to lead its Governors’ Forum.

 

At the conclusion of a closed-door meeting of governors held on Saturday in the office of the governor of Bauchi State, Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State made the following announcement.

In the banquet hall of the Bauchi State Government House, the PDP governors, members of the National Working Committee, and stakeholders gathered for a retreat for elected officials.

 

After the opening ceremony of the retreat, they entered closed-door caucus sessions.

 

In addition to Mohammed’s replacement of Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, Fintiri announced that Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, had been selected as the forum’s vice chairman.

 

He stated that the election of the governor of Bauchi State was predicated on his competence and capacity to lead the forum to greater heights.

 

In response, the new chairman of the PDP governor’s forum pledged to collaborate with colleagues to advance the party.

 

Mohammed stated that his election was an honour for him and the entire population of Bauchi State, and he urged his colleagues to support him in order to advance the forum and the PDP.

Some of the dignitaries present at the retreat are Governors of Adamawa – Umaru Fintiri; Bayelsa – Duoye Diri; Bauchi – Bala Mohammed; Delta – Sheriff Oborevwori; Osun – Ademola Adeleke; Oyo – Seyi Makinde; Rivers – Siminalayi Fubara; Plateau – Caleb Mutfwang; Taraba – Agbu Kefas; Zamafara – Dauda Dare and Edo – Godwin Obaseki (was represented by his deputy, Philip Shuaibu).

 

Others are the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar; the National Working Committee of the party led by the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum; the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Adolphus Wabara; former PDP National Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi; former Board of Trustees Chairman, Walid Jibril; former Niger State, Babangida Aliyu; former Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Aminu Tambuwal; Kogi State Governorship Candidate, Dino Melaye.

 

In addition, serving senators and representatives and senators and representatives-elect were present, as well as Abubakar Suleiman, chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria and speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
