Ondo State Commissioner for Health, Banji Ajaka, faced a harrowing ordeal as he was subjected to a severe beating by enraged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Ugbo Ward 3, Ilaje local government area. The incident unfolded amidst allegations that Ajaka had concealed a result sheet.
According to witnesses, the APC members, seeking the result sheet, turned their fury towards Ajaka after electoral officers implicated him as the holder of the sheet. Recounting the events, one witness stated, “Hon Ajaka, the Commissioner for Health, received a general beating in his hometown, as his name was mentioned by the INEC officer and some INEC officers together with the Aiyedatiwa camp, which compromised the system by removing the reporting sheet from the materials given to them.”
The atmosphere was tense, resembling an ocean of discontent among supporters of Chief Olusola Oke. The people of Ugbo Ward 3 expressed profound anger over the situation, believing it was time for Chief Olusola Oke to lead the state.
Confirming the incident, Ajaka revealed that he was attacked under the accusation of withholding the result sheet. He recounted how he was assaulted while attempting to provide an explanation.
