Court Passes Judgement On Ayu’s Removal As PDP Chairman, uphold suspension
The suspension of former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, was upheld by a Benue State High Court.
Recall that Iyorchia Ayu, the former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was suspended by a Benue State High Court.
Remember that in March, Ayu was suspended by his Nyorov council ward executive committee for failing to pay dues, abruptly ending his reign as PDP National Chairman.
The ward executive committee also accused Ayu of anti-party activities, prompting a vote of no confidence.
Vanger Dooyum, the Igyorov ward secretary at the time, stated that Ayu’s anti-party activities, along with those of his allies, contributed to PDP’s loss in his ward and local government during the governorship election.
In addition, they claimed that the PDP leader did not vote in the governorship and state assembly elections held on March 18, 2023.
According to them, the majority of Ayu’s closest allies worked for the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC), resulting in the disastrous performance of the PDP in Igyorov Ward.
Twelve of the seventeen members of the executive committee signed the documents supporting his suspension.
