Gunmen stormed Orodo community in a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through Imo State, Eze Samuel Ohiri, the former chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, known as Eze Imo, was abducted alongside his cousin, Solomon Ohiri, in a daring daylight attack on Saturday.
Sources reveal that the abduction occurred at the entrance of Eze Ohiri’s country home in Orodo, Mbaitoli Local Government Area. The victims, returning from shopping in Owerri, were just about to enter their residence when a group of heavily armed gunmen in a Highlander vehicle blocked their path.

The assailants, described as hoodlums, reportedly brandished weapons and forcibly ordered Eze Samuel Ohiri and his cousin to exit their vehicle. The victims were then abducted and taken to an unknown destination.
A reliable source close to the incident confirmed the details, stating, “Yes, I can tell you that the report you heard is true. Eze Ohiri was in the company of his cousin Solomon, who just came back from America when the gunmen attacked them.”
The source continued, “They came in a Highlander vehicle. The Eze and his cousin were just returning from shopping in Owerri when the hoodlums waylaid them at the entrance of the palace. They pointed their guns at them and ordered both of them to come down and eventually abducted both of them to an unknown destination.”

Concerns over the safety and well-being of the abducted traditional ruler and his cousin are mounting, with the State Police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, currently unavailable for comment.
