Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has reportedly fulfilled his commitment by clearing the entitlements owed to 27 lawmakers who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The payment covers their entitlements for both November and December.
The lawmakers, embroiled in the political turmoil gripping the state, had previously accused Governor Fubara of withholding their benefits.

A reliable source, speaking anonymously to Vanguard, confirmed that the payments were disbursed on Thursday.
The source revealed, “The government has paid the allowance and entitlement of all the lawmakers for November and December. The payment reached all the lawmakers, including the 27 who defected to APC.”
In a surprising move, Governor Fubara also extended his generosity to his cabinet members, ensuring that all commissioners received brand new cars. The source further stated, “The governor has also bought cars for all the Commissioners who are in his cabinet.
The 10 people who are working with him got it. I think the governor is gradually implementing the presidential directive.”
