Imo State Governor Uzodimma Unveiled as Chairman of APC Governors’ Forum
Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo State, is the new chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum, the umbrella organisation for All Progressives Congress (APC) governors.
Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, made the announcement during a meeting at the APC national secretariat in Abuja.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu presided over a meeting attended by Governor Buni and a delegation of APC governors, including Mohammed Bago (Niger), Senator Uba Sani (Kaduna), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), and Yahaya Bello (Kogi).
Governor Buni introduced Governor Uzodimma as the newly elected Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum during the meeting.
Governor Uzodimma received applause from his fellow governors as he stood to acknowledge his new position following his introduction.
In his address, Chairman Adamu congratulated the governors on their victories in the March governorship elections and urged them to concentrate on providing good governance in their respective states.
In addition, he expressed appreciation for the governors’ prompt attendance despite the short notice.
Chairman Adamu emphasised the need for Governor Uzodimma to adhere to the party’s principles and involve his colleagues in decision-making processes, highlighting the significance of filling the leadership void left by their predecessors in the Progressives Governors Forum.
“One of the concerns we wanted to express was our desire for you to fill the void left by the departure of your predecessors by assuming the leadership of the Progressives Governors Forum,” he said.
“By divine providence, you filled the void before this meeting by joining us. We hope and pray that God will continue to guide you in your administration of our people.”

In response, Governor Uzodimma committed to working closely with both the national and subnational levels.
He assured the group that the purpose of the forum is to improve the party’s activities and administration.
Uzodimma expressed confidence in the members’ collective abilities and commitment to implementing the party’s policies.
“Under my direction, we will be in close proximity to the party. The purpose of the forum is to invigorate the party’s activities and governance.
“I can assure you that you have a team, and that by collaborating with the kind of men I’ve seen as Progressives Governors’ members, we have all the resources necessary to ensure that the policies are adhered to,” he said.
