Lagos State PDP Chairman Released After Four Days in Kidnappers’ Custody

In a positive turn of events, Mr. Philip Aivoji, the kidnapped chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has been confirmed released after spending four harrowing days in the custody of his abductors.

Alhaji Hakeem Amode, the spokesman of the Lagos State PDP, announced on Monday, expressing gratitude for the collective support received during the challenging time.
The abduction occurred last Thursday in the Ogere area of Ogun along the Ibadan-Lagos expressway, as Aivoji was returning from a PDP South-West zonal meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The news had sent shockwaves through the political landscape, prompting concerns from the public.
Amode, who also serves as the Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary, conveyed the party’s appreciation for the outpouring of prayers and support. He stated, “We use this opportunity to appreciate your prayers and to thank you all for your concerns and prayers.”

The kidnappers had previously contacted Aivoji’s family, demanding a hefty N200 million ransom. However, Amode did not confirm whether any payment was made to secure his release. The circumstances surrounding the release remain undisclosed at this time.
