Just a day after initiating nationwide protests against the fuel subsidy removal, the Organised Labour has decided to suspend the proposed strike action.

Trade Union Congress President, Festus Osifo, revealed this during an interview with Arise News on Thursday morning.

Osifo stated that after meeting with President Bola Tinubu, the Labour leaders obtained commitments for the immediate implementation of some of the raised issues, leading to the suspension of the strike.

The Nigeria Labour Congress stated in a press release on Tuesday that they would proceed with the nationwide mass protest as originally scheduled after a meeting with the Federal Government.

NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, emphasized that the meeting didn’t result in any positive changes or concessions that would cause them to change their course of action.
