Explosions, gunshots rock Rivers TV, radio stations
On Tuesday night, gunmen attacked the popular radio station Wish FM 99.5 and the Atlantic Television Network in Ozuoba, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State, with explosive devices believed to be dynamite and random gunfire.
The incident, which occurred at 8:40 p.m., resulted in the destruction of equipment and property belonging to two media outlets owned by Chinyere Igwe, a member of the House of Representatives.

Igwe is also an ardent supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Igwe confirmed the incident when contacted on Wednesday morning, saying, “I am relieved that no lives were lost.”

Grace Iringe-Koko, spokesperson for the state police command, stated she had not yet received the incident report, but promised to inquire with the Divisional Police Officer and provide a response to our reporter.
Superintendent of Police Iringe-Koko had not responded to our correspondent at the time this report was filed.
