Health Crisis Unfolds: in Amid Welfare Concerns

Mass resignations have hit Nasarawa State, with 59 medical doctors withdrawing their services from Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH). The aggrieved doctors cited poor welfare as the primary reason for their resignation.

According to reports from Daily Trust, the doctors pointed to the non-implementation of hazard allowances and inadequate service conditions over the last three months as key factors.

The president of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) in Nasarawa State, Dr Yakubu Adeleke, highlighted the stagnation and lack of promotions for doctors in the region. He noted, “Some doctors have been working for eight years without promotion,” adding that the substantial resignation would further strain the state’s health system.
