The Niger State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has closed the Oyoyo Filling Station on the Kaduna-Abuja Road in Suleja.
The station was closed because it was allegedly used to store Indian hemp for trafficking.

Mr Musa Bwalin, the State Commander of the NDLEA, stated in Minna on Saturday that the security guard and some filling station employees had been taken into custody for further investigation.
He explained that they would be prosecuted after that.
Bwalin stated that the command had arrested a total of 250 suspected drug dealers, 64 of whom were convicted.
According to him, 1,2072 kilogrammes of illegal drugs were recovered, while another 2,272 kilogrammes of Indian hemp were intercepted by his men in Suleja Area Command, adding that the Indian hemp was to be transported to Abuja in the Federal Capital Territory.
The agency’s state commander also revealed that the command recovered a total of 2,218.02 kilogrammes of Indian hemp in Niger State during various raids on some identified black spots where the illicit substance had been consumed.

Bwalin also requested that the Niger Governor, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago, provide the agency with operational vehicles to help rid the state of illicit drug sales and consumption, assuring that the command will continue to make the state uninhabitable for drug traffickers.
The state Commander then urged members of the public to refrain from stigmatising drug users, saying, “Rather, it will make them more addicted to the drugs.”
