We Foiled 66 Attempts To Hack FEC Virtual Meetings – FG

Isa Pantami, the minister of communications and digital economy, reported yesterday that 66 attempts by hackers from Europe to compromise the Federal Executive Council’s (FEC) virtual meetings were thwarted.

According to Pantami, all cases have been reported to the relevant authorities for documentation and follow-up actions.

3) On Thursday, a coalition of civil society organizations operating under the auspices of the Civil Society Coalition for Economic Well-being and Good Governance gave President Muhammadu Buhari a 78-hour deadline to end fuel shortages or face widespread unrest. This information was presented in a communique that the Coalition released on Thursday in Abuja after a one-day meeting on Wednesday.

4) According to information provided by the Federal Government, 309 Nigerians applied to renounce their nationality through the Ministry of Interior. 5) On Thursday, Abubakar Malami, SAN, Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, reaffirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to holding credible, free, fair, and generally accepted general elections. 6) The Independent National Electoral Commission was accused by the New Nigerian Peoples Party on Thursday of refusing to replace candidates who left the party for other platforms. The party bemoaned the fact that, one month before the elections, INEC has refused to comply with orders from the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court in Abuja directing it to accept the names of new candidates submitted to it to replace those who withdrew their candidacies and resigned from the party.

7) On Thursday, the Federal High Court (FHC) in Abuja dismissed a lawsuit that sought to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to accept and publish the name of Mr. Akanimo Udofia as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in the Akwa Ibom election on March 11. In a ruling, Justice Emeka Nwite held that the court lacked the authority to decide the case after it had been decided by an appeals court and a court of coordinate jurisdiction.

8) Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), said on Thursday that Atiku Abubakar’s attempt to blackmail him would fail on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
