Fuel Subsidy: Reps Urge FG To Implement Palliative.
The House of Representatives has called on the federal government to implement its promise on putting in place palliative measures to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on Nigerians.
The call followed the adoption of a motion by Aliyu Sani Madaki (NNPP, Kano) at the plenary on Wednesday.
1. Suspended EFCC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa in Custody of DSS.
The Department of State Services (DSS) currently has Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in custody. Bawa was reported to have arrived at the DSS headquarters at approximately 9:02 pm.
2. CBN Directs Removal of Naira Rate Cap at I&E Window
The Central Bank of Nigeria has instructed Deposit Money Banks to remove the rate cap on the naira at the official Investors and Exporters’ Window of the foreign exchange market. This move aims to allow for a free float of the national currency against the dollar and other global currencies. 4. Escaped Inmate from Abuja Correctional Centre Arrested in Nasarawa
Haruna Sunday, an inmate who had escaped from the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja, was apprehended by the Nasarawa State Police Command for allegedly stealing property from a house in the Masaka community located in the Karu Local Government Area of the state. The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the arrest.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and former Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State were among the attendees at a meeting held by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday.
