Stands Firm: No Ransom for Abducted Children in Kaduna

 

has firmly stated that no ransom will be paid for the rescue of the abducted children from Kuriga in . This declaration comes in the wake of Islamic cleric Sheik Ahmad Gumi’s plea to the federal government for dialogue with the bandits to secure the release of abducted Nigerians.

Gumi criticized the Kaduna State government’s decision not to negotiate with the bandits who kidnapped from Kuriga Government Secondary and LEA Primary Schools.

Reminiscing about successful negotiations in the past, particularly in the Abuja-Kaduna train kidnap case of March 28, 2022, Gumi urged the government to adopt this method once again.

However, representing President Tinubu, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammad Idris, clarified during an interview with State House Correspondents after the FEC meeting on Wednesday.

Tinubu reiterated his directive to security chiefs to ensure the safe rescue and return of the abducted children.

Idris emphasized Tinubu’s unwavering stance against ransom payments to kidnappers, highlighting the current administration’s determination to confront kidnapping and other criminal activities in the country.

He underscored that mass abductions, particularly in the form of kidnapping, will not be tolerated under the present administration.
