CONGRATULATIONS ON THE SUPREME COURT CONFIRMATION OF YOUR ELECTION AS GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE
On behalf of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Okpe Union worldwide and the Okpe Nation, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to you on your triumph at the Supreme Court on January 19, 2024. The Supreme Court’s affirmation of your election as the democratically chosen Governor of Delta State is a victory not only for all Deltans but especially for the Okpe Nation, your primary constituency.
This validation by the Supreme Court instills confidence that you will be inspired to foster good governance, democratic principles, and the rule of law in Delta State.
Of particular significance to the Okpe Nation is the regard for the ruling by the Federal High Court on the Okpe Union Autonomy Case. We trust that your esteemed office will ensure the preservation of the rule of law, preventing any infringement by external forces against any group or individuals in any part of Delta State.
As we emphasized in our congratulatory message during your gubernatorial victory on March 18, 2023, rest assured that we, the democratically elected leadership of Okpe Union, will collaborate with you and your Government across all sectors for the growth and development of Delta State, including the Okpe Nation. A key aspect of our collaboration is seeking your endorsement for the recognition of Okpe as a distinct ethnic nationality in Delta State. In due course, we will submit a formal memorandum on this subject for your thoughtful consideration.
