Several media platforms, including national dailies, recently published articles claiming that President Bola Tinubu had compiled a list of ministerial nominees and was in the process of screening them before submission to the National Assembly.

Addressing the matter at a briefing held in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Mr. Dele Alake, the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy, expressed amusement at the flurry of reports surrounding the issue, asserting that they were mere speculations.

Alake emphasized the distinctive nature of the executive presidential system and affirmed that the decision to unveil the cabinet list rests solely with the President, who will determine the most appropriate time for its release.

He categorically dismissed the various speculations, innuendos, and rumors circulating in the media as baseless fabrications.

“The truth about the ministerial list is that, in this executive presidency, we are not operating under a parliamentary system. The President holds the ultimate authority and decides when it is appropriate to unveil the cabinet list,” Alake stated.

He further remarked on the media’s inclination to generate sensational stories for the purpose of selling, leading to the fabrication of such claims.

“I can assure you that all those things you have been reading in the media are pure fabrications. There is not an ounce of truth in any of those reports. When the President is ready, you will be the first to be informed about his intentions,” Alake assured.
