President Tinubu Meets Christian Association of Nigeria Leadership Amidst Inclusive Government Pledge

State House, Abuja – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu engaged in a crucial meeting with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the State House in Abuja on Monday, January 22. This gathering follows Tinubu’s recent meeting with the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria (SCSN), showcasing his commitment to an inclusive government.

As reported by Ejesgist News  this marks the first meeting of the year between President Tinubu and CAN. The details of their discussions are undisclosed, but sources indicate that this outreach is part of Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to foster inclusivity in his administration.

The meeting with CAN comes just days after the SCSN praised Tinubu’s economic policies and urged a unified deployment of resources to address national security threats, as reported by The Guardian.

In response to the security challenges, President Tinubu convened a security meeting with top military officials, including General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, and Lieutenant General Taoheed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff.

Ejesgist News reported that this meeting, held at the State House on Tuesday, January 16, focused on strategizing against security breaches, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory.

The security meeting followed recent incidents of kidnappings and brutalities in the FCT, prompting a concerted effort to address the growing security concerns. President Tinubu is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens.

In related developments, Ejesgist News reported that the leadership of CAN and the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) jointly condemned Islamic cleric Gumi over his comments targeting President Tinubu and the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

In separate statements, Oladipo Oyewole and Apostle Joshua Akinyemiju, the Secretary-General of the Yoruba elders and CAN Chairman of the Oyo state chapter, criticized Gumi for his alleged inciting statements.

President Tinubu’s engagements with diverse religious and community leaders underscore his commitment to fostering unity and addressing the pressing challenges facing Nigeria.
