President Tinubu Takes Bold Steps to Tackle Out-of-School Children Crisis

President voiced his deep concern over the alarming number of out-of-school children in Nigeria during a meeting with the (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.

Tinubu, addressing the committee members, emphasized the urgency of addressing the issue by establishing more schools, hiring teachers, and providing at least one meal a day for school children. This, he said, aligns with the progressive ideology the party aims to pursue.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, highlighted the need for a progressive and inclusive democracy, focusing on addressing poverty through job opportunities for youths and ensuring quality education for all Nigerian children.

Expressing support for the establishment of the National Institute of Progressive Studies by the party, Tinubu emphasized the importance of diligent research and education on democratic principles and good governance to provide a distinct identity for the APC.

“We will deliver it. I am committed to supporting a strong and ideologically determined democracy that is progressive, inclusive, and focused on eliminating poverty while providing quality education for our children,” stated President Tinubu.

He commended the party leadership for working hard to promote these essential ideals and urged the leadership to target more youths and women in the upcoming e-registration and digital membership validation exercise scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.

“I stand solidly with you in the advancement of the progressive ideological stance of our party, and we will pursue it with vigor,” Tinubu affirmed.

President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the party members for their overwhelming support during the campaigns, electoral victory, and the Supreme Court’s affirmation of his presidency. He acknowledged the challenges of his office, which have required increased focus, dedication, and time.

Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, informed the President of plans by the NWC to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming bye-elections into National and State legislative houses in February 2024.

“We assure Your Excellency that under our leadership and with your consent, strategies have been put in place to win the support of our people and secure all the seats available for the electoral contest,” Ganduje assured.
