Residents of Azandeh community in Ukum Local Government Area, Benue State, reported an attack by suspected herdsmen on Tuesday afternoon, which they claim left at least 10 people dead.
Local sources, including eyewitness Tersoo Iorbee, stated they received prior information about a potential attack. Mr. Iorbee described gunmen storming the community, shooting indiscriminately, and leaving “10 persons confirmed dead, including a family of seven.
Another resident, Msugh Aga, who narrowly escaped, reported the use of long knives and the burning of houses by the attackers.

The caretaker Chairman of Ukum LGA, Hon. Victor Iorzaa, confirmed the incident and stated he directed the deployment of additional police personnel to the area.
However, as of this publication, the Benue Police Command has not yet confirmed receipt of any reports regarding the attack.
