Aide to PDP Presidential Candidate Warns of Consequences for Planned Demolition in FCT

Daniel Bwala, a close aide to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has issued a cautionary statement regarding the intended demolition of structures within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by President Bola Tinubu.

Bwala suggests that if President Tinubu proceeds with the planned demolition, he might be compelled to sacrifice the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, as a consequence.

He stated, “All those people who are distorting the Masterplan of Abuja, too bad. If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will go down.”

In response to this threat, Daniel Bwala took to Twitter on Monday to offer his perspective. Bwala emphasized the importance of humility and a focus on the fundamental needs of FCT residents.

He outlined key necessities such as accessible healthcare, quality education facilities, clean recreational spaces, affordable transportation, efficient street lighting, and security.

The cautionary message highlights potential implications that could arise from the forceful implementation of the demolition plan.

Bwala’s words underscore the importance of balanced governance and an approach that takes into account the well-being of the residents while upholding the integrity of the city’s planning.

As the discussions surrounding this issue continue to unfold, it remains to be seen how President Tinubu’s administration will respond and whether adjustments will be made to the planned demolition strategy.

The fate of Nyesom Wike’s tenure as the Minister of the FCT might well hinge on the administration’s actions and the broader implications of its decisions for the people and the city.
