Adamawa election controversy: Tinubu calls on Police to investigate
The President Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has called for the investigation into the dispute surrounding the Adamawa Governorship rerun.
In a statement he personally released on Wednesday, Tinubu advised disgruntled candidates to pursue legal avenues for resolving their complaints.

The former governor of Lagos also congratulated the winners of the Saturday’s Supplementary Governorship Elections in the states of Kebbi and Adamawa.
The general elections for 2023 have now reached a proper, conclusive end, according to Tinubu.
I noted the fairly calm environment during the Saturday supplemental election with satisfaction. It served as more proof that our citizens respect democratic norms and have unwavering confidence in the voting process.

“However, I take note of the issue of the Adamawa Supplementary Governorship Election and I urge police authorities to thoroughly investigate everything that happened in the election given the attendant controversy,” the author writes.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, proclaimed the current Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the victor of the election on Tuesday after a number of disputes.
