The Men’s Missionary Union (MMU) of New Heritage Baptist Church in Eniosa, Ibadan, has made arrangements to honor three distinguished individuals in Nigeria with the Father Abraham Distinguished Awards as part of the 2023 United Nations Father’s Day celebration. The recipients of the awards are Rev. (Dr.) Samuel Adeyemi Akano, Engr. Timothy Olawale Falola, and Mrs. Bolanle S. Siyanbade.
According to Mr. Adebowale Adeoye, the Church’s Public Relations Officer, the award presentation will take place at the Church auditorium on Sunday, June 18, 2023, between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., located along Quarters Road in Eniosa, Ibadan.

Mr. Tunde Oyekan, Chairman of the MMU of the Church, explained that the Father Abraham Distinguished Award was established to acknowledge and celebrate the significant roles played by exemplary fathers in families, communities, cities, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole. Each year, the MMU and the Church-in-Council select distinguished fathers who have demonstrated exceptional support, guidance, and love towards children in Nigeria, and honor them with the prestigious Fathers of the Year Awards.
In the 2023 edition, Rev. (Dr.) Samuel Adeyemi Akano, the Moderator of the Men’s Missionary Union, Ibadan Overcomers Baptist Association, from Trinity Baptist Church, Ajobo Area, Ibadan, will receive the Highly Distinguished Father of the Year Award. Engr. Timothy Olawale Falola from Iyanu Oluwa Baptist Church, Off Arulogun Road, Ibadan, will be honored as the Distinguished Father of the Year Award, recognizing his outstanding leadership as a father and his accomplishments in the industrial sector in Nigeria.
Additionally, a new award category has been introduced this year, the Most Distinguished Helpmate of the Year Award. This award aims to appreciate women who excel in their roles as mothers and wives within their families while remaining strong in their faith. The recipient of this inaugural award is Mrs. Bolanle S. Siyanbade from the Women’s Missionary Union of the New Heritage Baptist Church.

Mr. Oyekan expressed his belief that the 3rd edition of the NHBC Father Abraham Distinguished Award, to be celebrated on Sunday, will be a great success and will bring blessings and salvation to many souls through the special program.
