8 APC leaders dump Tinubu, join PDP’s Atiku in Delta

In Delta State, eight Ward Chairmen of the All Progressive Congress, APC, have left the party and said they will vote for candidates from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the next general election.

When the PDP candidate for governor in Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, met with the PDP family, the Ward Chairmen said they were leaving the APC in their different wards with other supporters to join the PDP for the growth and development of the state.

Rt. Hon. Oborevwori, who is the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, also took in the APGA candidates for the State Assembly seat in Burutu North and the House of Representatives seat in Burutu into the PDP.

Oyabrade, Ward Chair of Burutu Ward 7, Egbe Angome, Ward Chair of Bomadi Ward 9, Volvo Oyayefa, Ward Chair of Akugbene-Bomadi Ward 8, Aya-Angor Akpors, Ward Chair of Burutu Ward 6, Ofene Emejor, Ward Chair of Warri South Ward 3, Bini Maxwell, Ward Chair of Burutu Ward 7, Festus Godspower, Ward Chair of Bomadi.

The former APC ward leaders said that they want to give PDP 5 over 5 in the next general elections. They said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has done good work and that Delta State needs to keep growing and developing.

People who spoke said that the APC has nothing to offer Delta State and that they would stick with the PDP.

They said they would get people to vote for Atiku-Okowa for president, Sheriff-Oborevwori for governor, and other PDP candidates in the elections.

Barrister Demebide Pele, an APGA candidate for the State House of Assembly in Burutu North, and Hon. Bibakefie Ebi, an APGA candidate for the House of Representatives in Burutu federal constituency, both praised the PDP-led government in Delta State and said that Rt.Hon Sheriff Oborevwori taking over from Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa would continue to promote good governance in the state.

They told Deltans, especially the Ijaw nation, to ignore the APC’s empty promises because the leaders of the party in Delta state, like the governorship candidate Ovie-Omo-Agege and the Director General of the campaign organization, Godsday Orubebe, had been involved in things that could hurt the democracy of the country.

In the upcoming elections, the APGA candidates said they would help the PDP candidates for president, senator, and governor win.

Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, who is the Speaker of the State Assembly and the PDP’s candidate for governor in Delta State, met with the eight APC ward chairmen and praised them for being brave enough to leave the APC and join the PDP for the good of Delta State.

Rt. Hon. Oborevwori said that the PDP is a party that cares about the growth of the country. That’s why they sent a rescue mission to stop Nigeria from falling apart even more under the control of the APC.

He asked them to support all PDP candidates in the upcoming elections, from the presidency to the state Assembly.

Along with the Speaker, some members of the State Legislature, members of the State Executive Council, and other top state government officials were there to meet the eight APC ward chairmen.
