Obike is currently promoting his ambitions to spark investment and has stated that he envisions Obike Air being a global airline.  Obike hopes that his airline will be able to compete with companies like British Airways, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, and Virgin Atlantic.

The upcoming Airline will be in Anambra, not Lagos.  Obike has expressed interest in Boeing 747s and 787s, so these may be the aircraft chosen to launch operations with.

You might find it interesting to learn that Igbo men from south-eastern Nigeria own more than 60% of Nigerian Airlines, including Air Peace, Dana Air, United Nigeria Airlines, Arik Air, Aero, Azman, Max, and Ibom.

If the proposed airline is launched, this will end Lagos’ monopoly and reduce the mass movement of Igbo importers and exporters to Lagos.

This good news is coming days after Yorubas in Lagos State asked  Igbos to evacuate Lagos.
