LP PCC Spokesperson, Yunusa Reveals Target Of Labour Party Leadership Crisis

 

Tanko Yususa, the spokesperson for the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Council, has spoken out about the leadership crisis afflicting the party.

In a recent interview, he disclosed that the leadership crisis engulfing the party is not aimed at the embattled National Chairman, Julius Abure, but rather at the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Recall that Police agents seized the National Headquarters of the LP in the Utako neighbourhood near the federal capital territory office on Thursday.

 

Moments after seven members of the National Working Committee of the Party allegedly named National Vice-Chairman (South) Lamidi Bashir Apapa as the acting chairman of the party, the secretariat was sealed.

Yunusa stated in an interview with Channels TV that the party crisis is a plot to frustrate Obi, who is in court challenging Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election.

He stated, “We are in the midst of a battle for the soul of Nigeria led by Peter Obi; we are currently being meddled with and manipulated within the party in order to challenge the leadership of the party, which is at the forefront of this particular battle, while giving credence to other things.” I am not insinuating that they lack evidence against Julius Abure; this should be handled within the party.
