Building collapses in Sango police barracks, Ibadan

On Saturday evening, a residential block at the Sango Police Barracks in Oyo State, Nigeria, collapsed.

In a video with the caption “This block just collapsed at Sango police Barracks, Ibadan, Oyo State,” posted to Twitter by one Miss Urie Keshia, the collapsed structure is in front of a three-story residential building.

At the time this report was filed, all attempts to reach the National Emergency Management Agency, Ibadan, and the Oyo State Police Command for comment on the incident were unsuccessful.

In the meantime, residents and onlookers are intensifying their efforts to evacuate the rubble, despite the fact that the number of trapped people or items is unknown.

On October 4, 2022, the Police Service Commission terminated the employment of seven high-ranking police officers on the grounds of purported severe misconduct.
