According to the video footage captured by locals, police officers in a deep red Toyota Sienna minivan stormed the students’ housing complex and began brutally assaulting them without providing any explanation for their actions.

One of the residents who recorded the incident stated in pidgin English, “See how he is cutting him with a cutlass. What kind of object is this? Observe the police in action. They entered someone’s property. See what the Owerri police are doing. These individuals did nothing. They (police) enter the compound quickly.”
