Gunmen abduct 40 worshippers in Kaduna

 

On Sunday, during a church service at Bege Baptist Church, Madala, along Buruku Baringi road, Kaduna, in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, gunmen abducted approximately 40 people.

Rev. John Joseph Hayab, chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State chapter, confirmed the incident to Ejes Gist Nigeria.

He stated, “At 9:30 a.m. on a Sunday, while the congregation was in worship, gunshots were heard very close to the church.” The gunmen attacked the church and took forty worshippers hostage.

 

He added, “Along the way, 15 of the kidnapped individuals returned, while the remaining 25 remain in captivity without word from their kidnappers.”

According to him, efforts were made to contact the kidnappers regarding the remaining hostages.

The State Police spokesman, DSP Mohammed Jalige, promised to contact the DPO of the affected area for prompt action upon being contacted.

Meanwhile, Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has spoken about how he was allegedly betrayed by his friend, Tony Elumelu, in their business dealings.
