In a rather unexpected turn of events, Basiru found himself occupying the highly coveted front-row seat. However, his moment of triumph was short-lived as a diligent protocol officer from the Adeleke camp swiftly approached him to deliver a crucial piece of information – that particular seat had been specifically reserved for the esteemed Governor.

In a timely manner, Governor Adeleke made his entrance at the Eid prayer ground, causing Chief Badmus to promptly vacate his seat and extend a warm welcome to the esteemed governor, right from the entrance of the prayer ground.

Upon his arrival, an intriguing incident unfolded as the Governor’s protocol demanded that Basiru relinquish his position in the front row. However, this directive faced opposition from certain locals who staunchly believed that Basiru, being one of their esteemed community members, deserved to retain his prominent spot.

Upon his return, he observed that Basiru remained seated in the front row, undeterred by the passage of time. In a fit of frustration, he stormed out without partaking in the customary act of prayer.

Following the Governor’s departure, a contingent of police operatives swiftly descended upon the prayer ground, promptly sealing off the entrance. It became apparent that their mission was to apprehend Basiru, as per the explicit instructions issued by the Government.

In a display of unwavering determination, the worshippers valiantly resisted and successfully forced open the gate. Prominent indigenes of Osogbo, including Basiru, gathered to observe the Turakat prayer. Following the conclusion of the prayer, they departed from the prayer ground.

 

 

Efforts to obtain comments from the spokespersons of Basiru and Adeleke, Olawale Rasheed, were unsuccessful.
