Supreme Court Dismisses Rumors of Phone Conversation Between Tinubu and CJN.

 

The Supreme Court has dismissed rumors circulating on social media about an alleged phone conversation between President Bola Tinubu and Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, regarding attempts to influence the ongoing proceedings before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).

In response to the speculations, the apex court issued a statement through its spokesperson, Dr. Festus Akande, on Wednesday, clarifying the situation and denouncing the false narrative.

The Supreme Court stated, “There is no iota of truth in the narrative, as there was no such telephone conversation between the CJN and anyone.” It emphasized the importance of maintaining focus on the proceedings at the Presidential Election Petition Court and urged the public to refrain from engaging in speculation and rumor peddling.

 

The court emphasized its commitment to uphold the rule of law and the supremacy of the Nigerian Constitution in all matters. It assured the public that justice will be served impartially, without favoring any party involved in any dispute.

The statement further called for cooperation with the judiciary and urged everyone to allow the courts to fulfill their statutory duty of serving the best interests of the masses. The Supreme Court concluded by reiterating its dedication to upholding justice in all matters pending before the courts across the country, emphasizing that no individual or entity would be treated unfairly.
