Lady beaten to death, body dumped in hotel’s pool

Last weekend, a tragic incident occurred in Awka, Anambra State capital, where a young lady named Miss Chinyere Awuda, from Nnobi, Idemmili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, lost her life.

She was allegedly beaten to death and later found dumped in a hotel pool. Reports suggest that the incident happened after some clubgoers accused her of stealing their money.

On Sunday morning, her lifeless body was discovered in the swimming pool of the hotel, where she had been left after the fatal assault.

According to sources, a tragic incident occurred at a club in Awka, Anambra State, where a young lady identified as Miss Chinyere Awuda lost her life.

The trouble erupted when a group led by Mr. Gabriel Chinemere, a well-known clubgoer, and his friends allegedly started beating her.

The altercation reportedly began when some clubgoers accused her of taking money that was being sprayed on their friend, who was celebrating his birthday.

Witnesses claimed that some individuals accused her of not only picking up money but also taking bundles of money that were placed near a clubber’s seat, ready to be used for spraying.

Some regular club attendees mentioned that some girls dress up and come to clubs to pick money while men are inebriated, which allows them to get away with the act.

Despite attempts by others to intervene and rescue the young lady, the assault continued, and she was eventually dragged outside the club. Her lifeless body was later found dumped in the hotel’s swimming pool.

Anambra State Police Spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident and mentioned that the birthday celebrant and his friends were in police custody, and the case is under investigation.

He also clarified that the hotel management cooperated with the police during the arrest of the suspects, contrary to rumors of complicity.
