Wike, a prominent chieftain of the PDP, made these bold demands during an interview on Channels Television. He also included the names of Sule Lamido and Aminu Tambuwal, both prominent figures within the party, in his call for suspensions.

In his interview, Wike defended his stance, asserting that he and members of the “G5” faction should be commended for their efforts in upholding justice, equity, and fairness within the party. He firmly stated, “I’m calling on the National Working Committee of the party to, as a matter of urgency, suspend the presidential candidate of the party, suspend Aminu Tambuwal, suspend Sule Lamido …”

When questioned about his own potential suspension, Wike responded with confidence, stating, “They know I didn’t do anything wrong. They should be congratulating us for fighting for equity, fairness, and justice… ”

He further defended his actions by suggesting that the PDP was, in fact, working against the interests of Nigerians. Wike argued, “Is the party not against Nigerians? Who is superior? Is the party superior to Nigerians? There is a Constitution. But because you think you have the power, you don’t want to follow the Constitution. They think they can do anything without anybody which they know is not possible. You can’t succeed.”

Wike’s call for suspensions within the PDP has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, leaving many to wonder about the implications for the party’s internal dynamics and its preparations for the upcoming political landscape. As this story unfolds, it is likely to generate significant debate and discussion within the PDP and the wider Nigerian political arena.
