Napoli sensation Victor Osimhen recently unveiled the Premier League allegiance of his youth, disclosing his ownership of jerseys from two iconic clubs—Manchester United and Chelsea.

“I had two jerseys, one was Chelsea and one was Manchester United,” Osimhen revealed in the newest episode of John Obi Mikel’s The Obi One Podcast.

Osimhen’s meteoric rise as a striker commenced in 2017 with Wolfsburg after being scouted at the Under-17 World Cup. His prowess flourished during a loan stint in Belgium, and a stellar year at Lille led Napoli to secure his services for a club record €70m, potentially escalating to €80m.

Exhibiting consistent improvement in Italy, Osimhen played a pivotal role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season, their first since 1990.

Despite a remarkable goal tally of 31 in various competitions, contractual negotiations between Napoli and Osimhen hit a snag, exacerbated by a video on official club channels that reportedly strained their relationship.

Amidst speculation surrounding Osimhen’s future with Napoli, his recent revelation about cherishing Chelsea and Manchester United jerseys from his childhood has fueled further speculation. Speaking on John Obi Mikel’s podcast, Osimhen shared his affinity for both clubs.

Victor Osimhen Likely To join Chelsea Next Season

In the same podcast episode, former Chelsea midfielder Mikel expressed his anticipation of Victor Osimhen joining Chelsea in the next season, offering to broker the deal.

In the same episode, ex-Chelsea midfielder Mikel told Osimhen: “Next season, I know you’re going to come to Chelsea. I’m telling you, I’m going to be the agent to broker that deal. I’m going to make sure that happens. We are crying out for someone like you…since Didier Drogba left the club.”

The Blues, keen on Osimhen, are reportedly monitoring his contract situation with Napoli. Negotiations may hinge on a substantial pay increase and the inclusion of a release clause.

Notably, last summer, Napoli priced Osimhen at €150m, but as his contract approaches its 2025 expiration, his market value may decline.
