Soludo Signs Anambra 2024 Budget into Law

Anambra State, Governor Charles Soludo has officially signed the 2024 Appropriation Bill into law, marking the commencement of a transformative fiscal year. The governor’s approval empowers the state government to implement the budget’s provisions, paving the way for focused development.

The budget, which amounts to N410,132,225,272, was initially presented to the State House of Assembly on November 21, 2023. Notably, this figure represents a substantial 57.8% increase compared to the 2023 budget.

Governor Soludo emphasized key areas of concentration, highlighting infrastructure development, education, and healthcare as primary beneficiaries of the allocated funds.

Expressing gratitude to stakeholders involved in the legislative process, Governor Soludo acknowledged the diligent efforts of the Anambra State House of Assembly. He asserted that the law now reflects the collective needs and aspirations of the people of Anambra.

Governor Soludo articulated his vision for the state’s transformation, emphasizing the pivotal roles of infrastructure and human capital development outlined in the budget. The signing ceremony was also marked by the repeal of the Anambra State Publishing and Newspaper Printing Corporation, underscoring the administration’s commitment to streamlining governance structures.

The Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, and Hon. Ejike Okechukwu, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, among others, bore witness to the historic signing ceremony.
