Acting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa urged citizens to unite and renew their commitment to the state’s development.

Stepping into the role during Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s medical leave, Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the recent political turbulence as a “temporary delay” and assured the public that the government had “recovered.”

During a statewide broadcast on Thursday, Aiyedatiwa recognized the challenges posed by Akeredolu’s health concerns and labeled the surrounding political intrigues as “avoidable distractions.”

He emphasized the need for a collective effort to move past these challenges and work towards a brighter future.

Reflecting on the role of faith in governance, Aiyedatiwa stated, “It is not for us as humans to question God but to pray for His mercies upon our lives.”

Expressing gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, APC Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and Pa Reuben Fasoranti for maintaining peace during the period of uncertainty, he underscored the importance of unity in overcoming obstacles.

The acting governor pledged to uphold Governor Akeredolu’s legacy and fulfill promises made to the people of Ondo. He appealed to government officials and citizens alike to collaborate in this shared endeavor.

Aiyedatiwa acknowledged that the recent challenges could have been handled better to ensure the state’s continuous progress.

“I cannot but specially appreciate the Judiciary for its courage, commitment, and dedication to protecting democracy and the constitution,” Aiyedatiwa said, recognizing the pivotal role played by the third arm of government during the transition.

He emphasized that the time for dwelling on past events had passed, urging everyone to focus on carrying forward the vision and mission of Governor Akeredolu.
