Ondo State Acting Governor Assures Governor Akeredolu’s Return Soon, Dispels Detractors’ Lies.
Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Acting Governor of Ondo State, has confirmed that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is recuperating well in a hospital abroad and will be returning to the country “very soon.” In a statement released in Akure, the state capital, Aiyedatiwa assured the public that he is in constant communication with Governor Akeredolu and that the governor is in high spirits. He emphasized that Akeredolu’s return to the office is imminent, enabling him to continue serving the state.

Aiyedatiwa expressed his determination not to let detractors derail the focus and developmental policies of the current administration led by Akeredolu. He urged the general public to disregard the lies and subterfuge being spread, referring to them as the tactics of desperate political gladiators from various political factions.
The Acting Governor stated, “I am in touch with him, the latest being on Sunday when he expressed appreciation to me and other state executive council members for holding fort while he is away. I would also like to join the governor in expressing our profound appreciation to all of you for your unending show of love and solidarity.”

Aiyedatiwa conveyed Governor Akeredolu’s gratitude for the prayers and well-wishes from the people of Ondo State and other stakeholders. He reassured everyone that the governor is recovering well and will return to his duties as soon as he is medically certified fit by his doctors.

Since Governor Akeredolu took a medical leave on June 7, Aiyedatiwa has been serving as the Acting Governor of Ondo State.
