Peter Mbah has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the NYSC, claiming N20 billion in damages for the injuries he claims his discharge certificate controversy has caused him.

In response to an inquiry from a non-governmental organisation, the NYSC issued a letter in February 2023 stating that the certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had not been issued by them.

A second letter renouncing the certificate was issued in April 2023 in response to a second inquiry by Silver & Co. Associates of Aba.

“With regard to the lawsuit, the NYSC has not been sued. I have not seen anything from a court, and I have only heard what you have said from the outside. I am not in possession of a court order, but I must inform you that we do not tolerate certificate racketeering. If it is a member of our staff, it is not our concern. “However, we did not issue that certificate,” he asserted.
