The Cross rivers state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr Ekpenyong Iso has been suspended by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, on Wednesday.

 

Iso was suspended for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities and stealing money.

The suspension was detailed in a statement that the Ward 8 Chairman, Kingsley Ekpe, and the Secretary, Gilbert Bassey, both jointly signed on Wednesday in Calabar.

 

“Your suspension is predicated on the recommendations of the disciplinary and fact-finding committee set up to investigate the petition of misappropriation of party funds and anti-party activities levelled against you.

“Consequently, during the pendency of this suspension, which takes immediate effect, you are to stay away from all party activities,” the statement read.

Responding to the suspension, he denied the accusation saying he did not misuse any funds during the election.

He said his supposed suspension was written by some “unscrupulous individuals, and the allegations are entirely untrue.
