The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not yet issued Gbajabiamila his certificate of return. As a result, he will not be able to serve his sixth term in the House of Representatives.

The development would provide a chance for other members of the party who had previously put their aspirations on hold to run for the House of Representatives seat in Surulere constituency 1.

Smart reported that Gbajabiamila was selected by the president following a meeting with stakeholders that concluded on Thursday morning at the Villa in Abuja.

According to the user, Tinubu chose the speaker to help him convince lawmakers in the National Assembly to support his proposals and policies.
