Former Nasarawa Deputy Governor,Onje Gye-Wado Kidnapped
In a shocking incident that occurred early on Friday morning, unidentified gunmen abducted the former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, Professor Onje Gye-Wado, from his home in Gwagi village of Wamba Local Government Area.
According to reports, the attackers forcibly entered his home and abducted him to an unknown location.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, issued a press release confirming the development, stating that the police command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has launched a search operation to locate and rescue the victim unharmed.
The police commissioner, CP Maiyaki Baba, also assured the public that every effort is being made to secure the former deputy governor’s release.
The police statement read, “Information received by the command indicated that on July 4, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m., unknown gunmen invaded Gwagi village in Wamba LGA, broke into the residence of one Professor Onje Gye-wado, and abducted him to an unknown location. On receiving the information, police officers from the Wamba Division rushed to the scene, but the perpetrators had already fled with the victim.
Following the incident, the police commissioner mobilized and deployed additional Police tactical teams, military, vigilantes, and local hunters to bolster the ongoing search for the former deputy governor and to apprehend those responsible.
