Panic as Nigerien military helicopter crashes
A military chopper from Niger crashed on its way back from a regular training mission, leaving three persons reported dead.
The helicopter crashed while landing at an airfield in the nation’s capital Niamey on December 26, killing all three aboard, including an instructor from abroad, according to the defense ministry of the country.
The wreckage burst into flames, blocking rescuers from reaching the crew.
Reuters reported that a commission of inquiry has been set up to determine the cause of the accident.
