The former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today to address allegations of a ₦37.1 billion fraud during her tenure.
Our correspondent, present at the scene, confirmed the ex-minister’s arrival at approximately 10 am on Monday. Subsequently, at 10:20 am, Sadiya Umar Farouq took to Twitter to announce her presence at the EFCC headquarters and shed light on the purpose of her visit.

Sadiya Announced Her Arrival At EFCC Office
“I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honor the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the commission is investigating,” she tweeted on Monday morning.
This move comes after earlier reports from Ejes Gist News indicating that the former Minister, citing health challenges, had officially written to the EFCC, seeking an extension of the deadline to meet with interrogators over the alleged ₦37,170,855,753.44 laundered during her tenure through a contractor, James Okwete.
