In a tragic incident near Mararaba in Nasarawa state, a one-man village was shaken as suspected armed robbers targeted Abdullahi Supermarket, claiming the lives of four customers, including a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) staff identified as Daniel Adefemi Okunade.

 

Okunade, recognized through his CBN Identity Card, met a fatal end as he was shot in the head while attempting to make a purchase, succumbing instantly. Three other victims remain unidentified.

According to an eyewitness, the swift robbery operation, lasting less than two minutes, witnessed the ruthless killing of Okunade, who also served as the choirmaster of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in One Man Village.

 

Ejes Gist News has gathered that when Okunade, returning from work, made a brief stop at the supermarket to buy bread for his family, he became an unintended victim of the armed assailants. Notably, his Toyota Venza car remained untouched by the criminals.

As the community grapples with the shock, the New Nyayan Divisional Police Station has transported the victims’ bodies to the Mararaba Medical Center mortuary. The atmosphere in the area is tense, with people gathering at the supermarket to identify the casualties.

 

Sympathizers, including church members, are offering condolences to Okunade’s family, highlighting the profound impact of this tragic incident.
