PDP crisis: Chimaroke Nnamani dares NWC, G-5 govs, others walk tight rope
Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani has started a full campaign for Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) presidential candidate, a few days after the PDP’s National Working Committee, NWC, suspended him.
The two governors who followed Nnamani were both produced by his Ebeano group, which is regarded as the origin of contemporary Enugu politics.
They are the current Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Barr. Sullivan Chime, whose term ended in 2015.
The senator from Enugu East Senatorial Zone, Chief Chris Ogbu of Imo State, and several other people were suspended over alleged anti-party activities.
Investigations revealed that Chief Ray Nnaji, a former PDP national auditor, had filed a complaint that led to his suspension.
An ex-official of the party had argued that Senator Chimaroke Nnamani was ineligible to support the presidential candidate of another party while also serving as a senator for the party and running for reelection on the party’s ticket.
He implied that the PDP would take very serious action against the former governor by saying that Nnamani’s offenses against the party are very serious.
He vowed to fully utilize the party’s apparatus against Nnamani in order to deter others.
He asserted that “campaigning for a different party while running for office in a different party is a serious anti-party activity.
