Renowned Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dele Momodu, has called upon the party’s leadership to take decisive action against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, accusing him of undermining the party’s interests.
Momodu’s plea stems from Wike’s perceived role in working against the PDP during the 2023 presidential election.
During his tenure as Governor of Rivers State, Wike reportedly threw his weight behind President Bola Tinubu, contrary to the party’s official stance supporting Atiku Abubakar.

Despite Wike’s bold affirmation of his loyalty to the PDP, he not only openly supported a rival candidate but also assumed a ministerial position in Tinubu’s government, in direct contradiction to the party’s principles.
In a recent interview on Arise News, Dele Momodu expressed his dissatisfaction with the party’s leniency towards Wike, emphasizing that such actions should not be tolerated. Momodu asserted that if he held the reins of power within the party, he would have taken punitive measures against Wike long before now.
“The PDP leadership must have its reasons for keeping him while he continues to trouble the party,” Momodu remarked, suggesting that Wike’s actions have not gone unnoticed within the party’s higher echelons.
Momodu’s statement encapsulates the growing sentiment among PDP members who are increasingly uneasy with Wike’s perceived betrayal.
