Maryanne Trump Barry, the eldest sister of former President Donald Trump, passed away on Monday at the age of 86.
She was found dead at her home in New York City, and the cause of death is currently unknown.
Barry had a distinguished legal career, serving as a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit for two decades, from 1999 to 2019.

Prior to her judicial career, she made history as one of the first female prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey. Her dedication to the legal profession was recognized in 1983 when President Ronald Reagan appointed her to the federal bench.
While Barry was a close confidante of her brother, former President Donald Trump, their relationship was marked by moments of criticism. In 2019, she became entangled in a judicial misconduct inquiry related to the Trump family’s tax affairs.
However, before the inquiry could reach a conclusion, Barry chose to retire from her judicial position.
