DSS Invites Suspended EFCC Chairman Bawa
Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been invited by the Department of State Services (DSS).
“Bawa has arrived for a few hours. In a statement issued Wednesday evening, the DSS Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, explained that the invitation relates to certain investigations involving him.

This development follows the approval by President Bola Tinubu of Bawa’s indefinite suspension “to allow for a proper investigation into his conduct while in office.”
According to a statement by the Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, the action is in response to “weighty” allegations of abuse of office against him.
“Mr. Bawa has been instructed to immediately turn over the affairs of his office to the Director of Operations at the Commission, who will oversee the Office of the Chairman of the Commission until the conclusion of the investigation,” the statement read.
