The Imo State Governor’s agents, including thugs and unauthorised police officers from the government house, invaded and occupied the Labour Party’s secretariat in Owerri , Monday, April 3, 2023, according to a statement from the party’s national leadership.

Such an unauthorised occupation is comparable to an invasion of the same secretariat on March 15, 2023.

Farouk claimed that in contrast to the March invasion, where the state government failed to provide any explanation for why it took such action against the party, this time the government claimed that the action was being taken in response to a court order.

However, to our knowledge, no such Order has yet been given, he continued. The court or its representatives have not provided us with any Orders. The police officers who are currently in our secretariat have not even shown us the Order. All of our employees, including officials, are currently prohibited from entering the secretariat.
